ThinkingWorks, in collaboration with UK design firm Jones + Partners, have combined thorough research and a contemporary design aesthetic to develop a range of acoustic furniture, ThinkingQuietly. Consulting acoustic engineers as part of the design process, advanced materials were selected to create a balanced acoustic environment, while also ensuring a sophisticated and unique design outcome suitable for the modern workplace.
The innovative Cone of Silence, an overhead meeting space designed to create privacy for participants, was the first piece developed in the ThinkingQuietly range. Noticeably reducing reverberation and improving the acoustic conditions in the office, the ThinkingQuietly range extends to workstations, work bays, tables and accessories. The ThinkingQuietly product suite offers a solution for peace and quiet within the office, harbouring an environment ideal for maximising productivity and the creation of ideas.
In order to verify ThinkingQuietly’s acoustic credentials, ThinkingWorks engaged independent engineers to assess the performance of the ThinkingQuietly workstation. Results conclude that the use of the ThinkingQuietly workstation under almost all assessment conditions results in improvements in acoustic privacy compared to open plan style workstations within an open plan office environment. The ThinkingQuietly acoustic panel, a felt based product, provides a sense of warmth to the product and is applied to the diverse range of ThinkingQuietly accessories to maximise sound reduction. ThinkingQuietly is available in range of finishes, including European Oak timber joinery in both Natural Oak and black stain and acoustic panels in light grey, dark grey and oatmeal.
ThinkingQuietly was a finalist in a recent global design award, Interior Design's Best of Year Awards, in the Furniture: Contract/Desking category.
