The new multimillion-dollar Australian head office for LinkedIn in Martin Place Sydney epitomises today’s flexible and progressive workplace.
Designers Woods Bagot were briefed with clear direction to create a ‘global office with a local feel.’ Cliff Rosenberg, LinkedIn’s Managing Director for South-East Asia, New Zealand and Australia explains that ‘he should feel at home plonking himself down at a free workstation next to the receptionist. The décor is just in case he forgets which country he’s in.’
Employees can frequent a fitness centre, play Daytona or Table Tennis, access catered meals and even grill their own burgers on an indoor BBQ. However, the local focus is maintained with walls featuring Kangaroos in boxing gloves eating meat pies and meeting rooms with names such as ‘Strewth’ and ‘Onya’. The concept follows through the space to include products from Stylecraft’s Australian designed and manufactured collection. Helen Kontouris’ Softscape modular range, Ross Gardam’s Duet Stools, Home 1 Lounging by ESO, Lamina Tables by Keith Melbourne and Spike stools all feature within unique fit out.
