Architecture firm Woods Bagot has taken residence in the historic Palace Hotel on St Georges Terrace, Perth. The firm was tasked with restoring the building to its former glory whilst ensuring its interior was suitable for a modern workplace. The 1897 building allows the firm’s Perth studio to take on an agile nature with the atrium serving as a communal social and events lounge space. Andrew Tang-Smith, Woods Bagot Associate, acknowledges the versatility of their new space; “This is our future, being able to work anytime anywhere in a place with different functionalities.”
To enhance the combination of a flexible, contemporary workspace with a heritage aesthetic, several Stylecraft pieces were selected for the project. Blava Easy chairs by Ritzwell make an elegant design statement in a lounge like break out area. Catifa 46 4 Way Swivel chairs by Arper along with Autobahn benches by Derlot Editions contribute to the open working environment.
