Bowling for Cancer

In 2007, Stylecraft hosted its first Bowling for Cancer event to raise money for cancer charities and to bring the Architecture and Design (A&D) community together for a night of fun and fierce competition. Over the course of six years, we raised over $200,000 for various cancer-related charities.

After a 10-year hiatus, we’ve decided to bring Bowling for Cancer back as a celebration of our 70-year heritage and to raise money for children’s cancer research. This year we are aiming for the stars and looking to raise $70,000.

All proceeds raised from the events this year, will be donated to children’s cancer charities, including The Kids’ Cancer Project and the Children’s Cancer Institute in Australia, and the Children’s Cancer Foundation in Singapore.

The Kids’ Cancer Project is an independent national charity supporting childhood cancer research, committing over $70 million dollars to scientific studies to help children with many types of cancer. The organisation’s vision is to see a one hundred per cent survival rate for children with cancer, while eradicating the harmful impacts treatment can bring.

The Children’s Cancer Institute was established in 1976 by a dedicated group of parents of children with cancer and their doctors. The organisation is the only independent medical research institute in Australia, wholly dedicated to curing childhood cancer and employs over 300 researchers, students and operational staff.

Founded in 1992, Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) is a Social Service Agency with a mission to improve the quality of life for children with cancer and their families, by enhancing their emotional, social and medical well-being. Over the years, CCF has helped more than 3,700 children and their families at different stages of the illness and recovery.

The 2023 Bowling for Cancer events will take place across all seven Stylecraft locations, on Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 November. It is expected that around 150 teams from the A&D Community will compete. Teams consist of five players, with each team donating $125 to our chosen charities.

Traditionally, our Bowling for Cancer events have had a fancy dress theme which makes the evening all the more enjoyable. This year’s theme, ‘70s – Get your Groove On’ is a nod to Stylecraft’s 70th Anniversary.

A special thank you to this year’s Platinum Partner, Kvadrat Maharam, and our Gold and Prize Partners in each state. With your generous support, together we can make a meaningful and lasting contribution to children’s cancer research.
