Celebrating 2024, a Year of Design, Collaboration and Impact

2024 has been a year of innovation, impact, and design excellence, highlighted by our commitment to supporting Australian design and manufacturing. From showcasing creativity at Saturday Indesign to celebrating future talent through the AFDA and Design Institute of Australia’s GOTYA, we’ve nurtured local design and emerging talent. We’re also proud to support RizeUp Australia in creating safe spaces for survivors of domestic violence, underscoring our dedication to meaningful causes.

As part of Melbourne Design Week, Stylecraft and the National Gallery of Victoria were pleased to announce the winner of the Australian Furniture Design Award (AFDA), as Marta Figueiredo for her entry Chronicles of Resilience’, a design championing women’s health and highlighting endometriosis.

Early in the year, we welcomed Keith Melbourne to our showrooms across Australia for the launch of his new collection, Helice. A derivative of the Avion collection, the Hélice Lounge series introduced a new system of seating that exudes sophistication while ensuring optimal comfort for diverse commercial environments.

Exciting new releases were unveiled from our family of local designers, including the Lattice Rug by James Walsh and Abyssal Rug by Anne-Claire Petre, with a percentage of proceeds from the sale of each rug donated to Tjapani Desert Weavers, supporting female artists in remote central Australia to earn their own income through fibre art.

We also welcomed new designer Mr Frag and introduced fresh workspace solutions, the Clarity One and Loft Workstations.

September saw us partake in Saturday Indesign, with THEN • NOW • NEXT, encapsulating the legacy of timeless designs, the latest collections to arrive in Australia as well as challenging us to imagine the possibilities for the future of materiality and design.

Our partnership with the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) continued this year, supporting the Graduate of the Year Awards (GOTYA). For the fourth year running, Stylecraft hosted events across our Australian showrooms in September to congratulate and celebrate this year’s award winners, reinforcing our commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in the future of design.

In partnership with the Image Makers Association Australia, Stylecraft hosted the 1 Shot 24 Exhibition across our showrooms nationally. Centred on the theme “Seeing & Knowing,” the exhibition featured 42 works that reflect current Australian perspectives. Each Stylecraft showroom transformed into a gallery, showcasing the creative talents of association members and celebrating artistic excellence.

Continuing our annual tradition of charitable giving, Stylecraft proudly supported RizeUp Australia in 2024 with a $20,000 donation.

RizeUp Australia provides life-changing, practical support to women and families rebuilding their lives after experiencing domestic violence, offering vital assistance when it’s needed most.

Throughout the year, Stylecraft furniture featured in a variety of high-profile fit outs, with a focus on Australian-designed and manufactured pieces. In the recent redesign of BHP’s Melbourne headquarters, a selection of pieces designed by Ross Gardam, Keith Melbourne and Thinking Works were specified, enhancing flexible workspaces whilst reflecting the versatility and quality of Australian-made design in both private and shared settings.

Every year, Stylecraft acknowledges the outstanding efforts and contributions of our staff by presenting Staff Awards at our end-of-year celebration.  These awards are given to employees who have consistently provided excellent service to our clients, shown strong potential for future leadership within the company, and gone above and beyond their regular responsibilities while embodying Stylecraft values in all their actions and work each day.

On Friday 13 December, the 2024 Staff Awards were presented to the following Stylecraft team members:
