The Artona Armchair is a sculptural lounge chair designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Tacchini, created to bring architectural structure and enduring comfort to refined interiors. Conceived in the mid-1970s as a micro-architecture of vertical and horizontal planes, its geometric frame is softened by a gently curved backrest that balances rigour with a sense of stability.

The armchair is constructed in solid walnut or Canaletto walnut, with layered timber surfaces that reveal the precision of traditional cabinet-making. A supportive wooden seat with polyurethane foam padding provides lasting comfort, while a range of fabric or leather upholstery allows the finish to be tailored to its setting.
