Whiskey Room House

Interior Stylist, Simone Haag, was entrusted by the owners of the Whiskey Room House in Armadale, Melbourne to re-imagine several spaces within their Victorian home.

The owners collection of unique pieces collected during their time living overseas inspired the design, as well their own personal colour palette. Soft mustard, green and earthy tones set the scene for an inviting and refined family home.

A Five to Nine daybed by Tacchini takes centre stage in the elegant hallway in a soft grey mohair fabric framed by an statement artwork by Australian artist Australian artist Kirsty Budge.

Speaking to Stylecraft for Tacchini’s Sofa Talks series, Simone commented: “What was so interesting about this Five to Nine daybed was both my client and I knew it was the perfect piece and almost came to each other with it at the same time.”

Speaking of the details of Five to Nine that appealed to both Simone and her client, Simone said “it’s beautiful to see pieces which have such a sculptural, almost museum-like element, create these immersive spaces.”

The elegant home office space features a Catifa Sensit office chair by Arper in a soft green leather to complement the tonal palette evident in the home.

In an informal living room, a Lina armchair by Tacchini complements the other sculptural-like pieces and accessories within the room.

Speaking about her studio and practice, Simone said “we help our clients make decisions that might just be a little more bold, or a little more interesting, or a little more unusual than what they would have selected alone.”

In Simone’s choice of palette, furniture and objects she has succeeded in creating a richly textured series of spaces for her client that are sophisticated yet accessible.
