CSL
Flexible Design is on display at CSL’s Global Headquarters in Melbourne, Australia.
The new CSL Global Headquarters, designed by Cox Architecture, is a testament to the power of adaptability in commercial environments. Flexibility, sustainability, and user wellbeing are central to this landmark project, and these values are integrated into the design through the selection of modular, loose furniture.
Incorporating bespoke Kiik Modular by Arper in the impressive auditorium, the fitout prioritises dynamic spaces that can evolve with the needs of CSL’s people.
Featuring 16 levels and spanning 35,000 sqm CSL’s Global Headquarters and Centre for R&D serves as a testament to innovation and contribution to biomedical science.
Unlike fixed joinery, modular furniture offers long-term sustainability, supporting a circular economy by allowing for reuse, refurbishment, and recycling. This reduces waste, extends product lifecycles, and ensures investment longevity.
Australian designed and manufactured Place modular lounging and Breeze coffee tables by Ross Gardam provide lounging for CSL clients and teams.
Beyond environmental benefits, loose furniture enhances ergonomics, comfort, and efficiency. Designed to support a hybrid workplace model, these modular solutions, such as the above with Adapt Modular by Ross Gardam, integrate seamlessly into CSL’s work settings, from collaboration zones to focused workspaces.
The result of the CSL fit-out is an agile, high-performing environment that fosters both innovation and wellbeing. As workplaces shift towards future-ready design, projects like CSL demonstrate how loose furniture delivers not only operational and environmental benefits but also a more human-centred approach to workplace strategy.
