JLL
JLL
Leading global commercial real estate and investment management company, JLL, has expanded their presence in the iconic 101 Collins Street office building in Melbourne.
The in-house Workplace Strategy and Interior Workspace Design teams have created a space to inspire as well achieving a 6 Star Green Star rating and Platinum WELL certification for the fit-out.
The layout was influenced by the infamous Hoddle Street grid of Melbourne as well as the building’s proximity to Collins Street and Flinders Lane. Several meeting rooms carry the name of original ‘Rag Trade’ textile businesses in the Flinders Lane precinct such as Pawson, Tomasetti and Sargood to honour the area’s past.
In an environment where companies are often reducing office floorspace, the expansion in Melbourne for JLL marks confidence in the market.
The Sempronia chair designed in 1987 by Tobia Scarpa and re-issued by Tacchini in 2023 was selected for a formal meeting room creating a sophisticated space with comfort at the forefront. Another re-issued Tobia Scarpa chair for Tacchini, Pigreco, features in an open-plan meeting zone.
As well as catering for the day-to-day needs of the JLL team, the new fit-out also facilitates stakeholders by providing premium amenities and curated spaces for collaboration. A meeting room with Catifa Up chairs by Arper in a rich plum tone contrasts the Walnut meeting table and internal cladding.
The building boasts unrivalled views of the city and beyond, as shown in a space featuring Kinesit Met chairs by Arper. Kinesit Met is a sophisticated evolution of the Kinesit office chair, featuring a contemporary colour palette including armrests in a brushed metallic finish in matte copper that complements JLL’s dynamic Melbourne location.
Aava 4 Leg Timber Chairs by Arper with a soft green seat upholstery create a calming zone for private work or meetings to contrast the rust, earthy tones of other furniture pieces including locally designed and manufactured Avion armchair by Keith Melbourne.
