Omnicom

Spanning over four years, Bates Smart have led a delicate, heritage inspired refurbishment for Omnicom Media Group.

In an extensive fit-out, levels 2 to 6 of the iconic 299 Bourke Street building are now home to Omnicom’s network of advertising and media agencies. With a strong focus on referencing heritage detailing, Bates Smart have brought this upgrade to life through contemporary finishes and a playful colour palette — creating an environment that fosters both creativity and collaboration.

Proudly Australian designed and manufactured, the Place Curve Lounge by Ross Gardam is featured throughout all levels in a range of finishes complementing the diverse palette. Agile in its form, the modular system creates dynamic settings that encourage connectivity and engagement. Place offers endless configurations — from individual ottomans to low, mid, or high-back options — perfectly suited to various workplace and commercial environments.

Met Stools by Stylecraft ground both casual zones and collaborative meeting spaces as a versatile, multifunctional staple. Locally designed and manufactured, the addition reinforces Bates Smart’s contribution to supporting Australian design and production.

As a modern interpretation of timeless shapes, the Polar Ottoman by Tacchini introduces a sense of fluidity and movement to the fit-out while inviting moments of pause. The collection presents an interesting array of configurations and is also available in four unique shapes, with or without a backrest.

“Internal finishes and the colour palette reference the façade heritage porcelain tiles, in particular the pink which is featured on the level 4 client floor.” – Bates Smart
