Rowena Parade

Rowena Parade by Cantilever Interiors evolved from a kitchen renovation to an entire home renovation, this light filled residence is now a weekend escape for a recently retired couple.

The clients wanted the project to provide a robust yet polished material palette. It was essential that the renovation would compliment their love of art, and colour, and feel uplifting.

To enhance the quirky yet elevated style throughout, the home has been furnished in a range of Stylecraft’s Australian and Intenational brands.

Furniture in this project allows for cohesive customisation of the home’s palette. Enjoyed in the living room is Ross Gardam’s Hearth Curve Lounge, and Hoshi Armchairs by Skeehan Studio. The informal dining space features Karimoku New Standard Colour Wood Dining Table and Castor Plus Dining Chair.

The starting point for this project beyond the functional floorplan and brief was the stone. The kitchen benchtops embrace green, brown, blue and mustard tones, allowing the palette to take on a unique richness. Tying in the  stone with the warm toned joinery are the Sedis Stools by Australian designer Anne Claire Petre for ACP Atelier, in a stunning deep green fabric.

Sitting opposite the kitchen and contrasting the materiality used in that space, is the dining room. Juno 02 Chair by Arper and Onemm Table bring neutrality, enhancing the deep blue tones that characterise the space.

Tacchini’s s Sesann Lounge, paired with the Joaquim Coffee table provides a quiet escape at the front of the property. This calm space offers a more neutral palette compared to the quirks of the rest of the home.

“I wanted a fun, relaxed home that would act as a bolthole for the city. Large enough to have people for dinner or to stay but not so large as to have unused rooms or a massive garden to maintain.”
