Overlooking the iconic MCG with sweeping views across the city is Sky Place. Designed by Cantilever Interiors this elevated apartment was brought to life based on the idea of socialising with friends around the kitchen before a game of footy at the ‘G’ and taking in the stunning views.
Cantilever Interiors was tasked with enhancing the large floorplan by introducing greater definition of areas and functionality—maximizing the apartment’s potential.
Repetition of rich, dark colour and bold patterns in furniture pieces such as the Noon Coffee and Breeze Side Table by Ross Gardam, Tacchini’s Pi-Dou Vase and Ritzwell’s JK Easy Chair, work to unite the interior finishes with soft furnishings.
From every angle of the main multi zoned area of the apartment you are immersed in stunning views of Melbourne. Positioned to take full advantage of the abundant natural light and sweeping outlook, the Five to Nine Daybed by Tacchini serves as the perfect spot to relax and take it all in.
The Hearth Curved Lounge by Ross Gardam, with its soft creamy upholstery, grounds the living space beautifully, complementing the project’s overall palette.
The Pigreco Dining Chairs by Tacchini mirror the soft curves of the island bench and lounge, further unifying the space through consistent, flowing forms.
‘I wanted to create intimacy and a relationship between the activity zones. The thought emerged of connecting kitchen, dining and living spaces through a sculptural intersection of lights. The introduction of Ross Gardam’s lighting helped link the kitchen with the bar and adjacent casual dining, and living with its dark and moody features.
A standout feature of the renovation is the island bench, crafted from a bold yet timeless stone with a striking pattern and rich spectrum of colour. It comfortably accommodates the Monk Barstools, by Prostoria.
